The Road Goes On For Ever but The Tour Is Coming to an End

The Grand Finale of the Summer of 2026 You Are Here Screening Tour!!!

Well, this is it folks, the tour is coming to an end. Many of you have seen us at some point along the way, but if you missed us, the whole point of this tour is to earn us the right to return to a theater near you in the near future.

I'd be lying if I said this tour wasn't grueling. We are all exhausted beyond belief and the kids are absolutely DONE with being in our dilapidated RV. This sucker has been destroyed. Let's list a few items on the punch list for repairs:

1. The driver's side mirror was sideswiped and rendered unusable. Thus we have a makeup mirror from Target Gorilla Taped to the mirror mount

2. The AC vent grate and filter are missing, hindering the productivity of the cooling system while in the triple digit Texas heat

3. The hot water system is contaminated and smells like sulphur when we use it, so we don't

4. The RV exit door is broken and held closed by dog leashes from the inside; at some points the door hasn't opened at all

5. The door window slid partly down into the door, leaving a large air gap that creates lots of noise while driving and allows our AC to escape

6. The water tank is dripping from the outside. I have it T-Rex Taped to keep as much water in as possible

7. The awning has been lashed to the side of the Bago, unusable since early June

8. The fridge and freezer provide warmth and semi-coolness at best, respectively.

9. The doors and cupboards are all duct taped shut, latches no longer working

10. Every nook and cranny of the back end are scratched, dented, and disfigured by various incidents

11. The strap securing the sliding door that blocks off the back bedroom in place while in motion broke months ago and has been duct taped closed

12. Door moldings throughout are coming off and now duct taped back to the doorways

13. The vent hatches are duct taped down on the roof because the closing mechanisms are broken

14. The A/C in the driving cab goes in and out, thus making it a brutally hot chore to drive in this Texas heat

15. The electricity for half the RV, including the fridge, does not work

Okay, I can go on and on, but you get the picture. We'll be limping back to LA come Friday morning, physically and emotionally.

But...damn was this an amazing adventure! We've seen the love and support of so many friends and even strangers on this journey, reaffirming the best of humanity. We've also seen people laugh and cry during our movie, which was always the stated goal, in addition to being better than Cats. Only my daughter doesn't think this is better than Cats---because she loves cats and thinks I'm actually talking about real cats. On that note, we've also seen a stowaway cat in our RV and seen our kids potentially responsible for the death of a 3 day old kitten in Florida--reports on their involvement are murky, but too much love ala George from Of Mice and Men seems to have been the cause.

We've also seen great success and disappointing failure, but both are equally valuable to the future of this film. But the best thing to come of our tour is that PEOPLE LOVE OUR MOVIE. We made something good that makes people feel and that is an incredible success, regardless of the ultimate finances of this film. We know this film deserves distribution. We know this film deserves to be on the Big Screen in wider release. Yes it's flawed, but what film isn't on our micro budget? All I know is that it's better than a lot of $5M movies that make it out to the masses.

We will now go forth and figure out what the next phase is for this Little Film That Could and Is. Maybe it's Searchlight picking us up and distributing us worldwide. Maybe it's a film festival or two. Maybe it's being bought by a streamer. Or maybe it's just us renting it and selling it on our website for a while before putting it on services like Apple and Amazon as a Video On Demand offering. Regardless, the journey continues and how it continues will determine whether we're broke and rebuilding our lives or we're financially redeemed and our 8 year old son no longer thinks we're morons for spending all our money on this effort.

We hope you all will continue to be part of this journey. We hope you will review us on Letter Boxd: https://letterboxd.com/film/you-are-here-7/

OR

OR perhaps you just tell people about us, send some emails to friends when we're back in theaters or available to rent online.

People are the flywheel of this film and we need all of you to help push so we can keep turning and eventually fly on our momentum.

Oh yeah, we wouldn't mind it if you buy merch! We could use some reinforcement of finances to help piece the Bago back together!

Thanks for being along for the ride with us. You Are Here, Deal With It.
